My Friends
Posted on Sunday, 9 September 2012
So this weekend was the proper start to my goodbyes. I had the most amazing send off yesterday, my friends all came to my house and we had a huge party. I was so scared because I hate hosting parties just in case my friends don’t have fun but I think fingers crossed that my party went well! Everyone seemed to laugh, everyone joked and everyone got on. All of my school friends mixed with my work friends and my university friends mixed with my school friends. I was so pleased they all seemed to have fun. Funny what a bit of alcohol in some red cups can do, right?
No. I joke. I know it is because my friends are incredible. I really am the luckiest girl in the world. I can’t help but feel so humble and confused as to how on earth I deserve such good friends. I also know that next year, those who I don’t get to Skype so often will still be my friends when I return. We will pick up like we never left one another. To be honest, sometimes I can’t see some of my friends till the summer holidays anyway – our dates always seem to clash. So in that way, I am not really doing anything toooooo drastic by moving abroad for a year. It will be weird not to see my St Margarets lot, especially as I am down almost every weekend (I really was in Term 3) to help out and see them all (and to take advantage of the beautiful pool). It’ll also be weird not to be able to just text those friends who are my best friends from secondary school.
So this blog is to say thanks. To my friends. My amazing best friends. I love every single one of you.
